A group of ten found guilty of online harassment against Brigitte Macron

A Paris court has convicted ten people for engaging in the cyber-bullying of Brigitte Macron, the wife of France's leader, Emmanuel Macron.

The defendants faced accusations of circulating fabrications regarding her gender identity and sexuality, in addition to posting malicious remarks about the husband and wife's 24-year age gap.

The court issued suspended jail terms of as much as eight months to the defendants. The full ruling has yet to be released.

A longstanding unfounded claim claiming that Brigitte Macron is a person assigned male at birth has been in circulation since her husband's first electoral victory in 2017.

This recent ruling in France is concurrent with the Macrons pursuing a libel case in the United States of America against conservative commentator Candace Owens, who has also voiced comparable unfounded claims about the Brigitte Macron's identity.

Their legal filing states that Owens disregarded substantial counter-evidence contradicting her allegations opting to platforming known conspiracy theorists.

Owens has often echoed these allegations on her podcast and social networks, and in March 2024 proclaimed that she would bet her whole career on her belief that Mrs. Macron was born a man.

Brigitte Macron first met her now-husband when she was a teacher at his secondary school.

The pair entered into matrimony in 2007, when the man who would become president was 29 and she was 54.
